About Thrift Design

A love of nature and the animals we meet. Lancashire Artist Lucy Ann Wray BA explores and develops unwanted materials to create art from salvaged resources. Inspired by the British countryside, each creation is unique. With stitched highlights, Lucy sews together an unusual assortment of salvaged materials that would normally be thrown away to make her delightful designs. She really captures the creatures personalities with her layered 3D effect.
Working in this way she aims to highlight how our overconsumption of single-use materials is affecting our environment.

Her work has been recognised by Crafts Council and Wayne Hemmingway as ‘One to Watch’.
