About Iona Buchanan
Iona Buchanan is a botanical artist and illustrator by training whose artwork is characterised by carefully observed watercolours of the natural world. As well as painting, Iona makes a range of beautiful and practical homewares using designs featuring her original artwork. She believes that practical things can and should be beautiful.
Something of an inventor when not painting, Iona’s unruly family inspired her to come up with her Bread Warmers so that she could have warm bread with her meals. They went on to scoop an award in the Gift of the Year awards last year (just as the pandemic struck).
She lives and works in rural Stirlingshire and her best ideas come from looking out of her window at the countryside around her. All of her products are made in the UK, none of them include plastic and all of them are based on her original watercolours.
