About Corinne Hills Botanical Illustrator

Winner of an Art in the Community award for her 13 years teaching art to young children and latterly moving on to be the Head of Art at her local boys prep school, Corinne still finds time to exhibit her work at venues such as the likes of Chelsea Flower Show, Hampton Court, NEC Birmingham Gardeners World, Tatton Park and Art in Ireland.

Corinne has illustrated a wide range of subject matter all her life, but her love for illustrating plants and flowers would always take precedence as her chosen subject and in 1996 having exhibited many botanical pictures successfully in France, Sweden and Ireland, she decided to turn professional. Working from only living plants, flowers and shrubs at their actual size, Corinne now offers not only original works and commissions, but also a range of limited edition prints and cards.

Corinne is one of a few Botanical artists who work exclusively in coloured pencil. Though a medium not generally recognised for its application to Botanical art, the close control associated with pencil work offers pictures that are both botanically accurate, correctly coloured and ascetically beautiful and is rapidly becoming more accepted by other artists and the public alike.

Since 1996 Corinne has exhibited at all the major UK venues and several overseas. A medallist at the Royal Horticultural Societies annual exhibition for her general flower studies, Corinne’s work is now becoming very collectable both at home and abroad.
